Boudoir Photography is a bit of a hard subject to exsplaine, one of the best ways I think to exsplaine would be lingerie photography that you see in catalogues. Glamour involves less clothes or nude. With Boudoir shoots they tend to be romanticly set, sentual and taken with style, many male photographers lack this 'insight' as it is very much a female thing, however Im a man that can. but we also have female photographers if that needs be the case.
I have complied some information to help both you and I select what shoot you would like and give you some ideas..This sis sue to the issue with peoples concepts or what type of photographythat they want and we do.
How to select your style of shoot:
When you think of the style of photography, saying 'some nice photos' really doesnt give us much idea as to the type and style of photogrpahy that we offer. In your mind you may know what you would like but this will not really help. To help you decide on the photogrpahy that you want if you do not already know, please read the following information:
Clothes on or off?
Will it be a makeover?
Sexy or Good/stunning looking?
Sexual or Tease?
Stunning or smart?
Personal or Portfolio?
Arty or Standard?
How will you display your Photos?
Once you can answer these questions then picking your style of shoot is simple. just tell us and we will help you get the right type of style that you want, also if you would like to send us some photos that you have seen and like, we will understand your photo shoot requirements that much better.
Presentation of your photos:
When you have your glamour photographs taken you do need to think about how you will display them. The choice you make will effect how the photos are taken; For example: a personal adult couple shoot may wish to have a story type shoot to be displayed in an album, or you may want some large format prints for the bedroom wall (or Wall paper) or you could simply want prints. the choice is yours, and we do like to offer the 'package' that best meets your needs.
Location:
Photo shoots can look different dependant on the location that the shoot takes place, home shoots can look vastly different to studio, hotel and location shoots. The style can also dictate where the photo shoot needs to take place, after all, you may not have a kniky dungeon available or furneture that suits your photographic shoot; for example: a period drama style shoot in a manor house or hotel somewhere in the UK.
What you Need:
Bring a range of clothing that will suit the area of photography, you will be advised in the initial meeting with your photographer of anything else that you need to bring with you on the day.
Due to location shoots, and key colours we need to keep things in what us photographers say as 'keeping in key' This can be planed in advance if you bring what you would like to wear to a meeting and or at the location of the shoot. Oh, just a quick note. dont be shy, we've seen it all before.
Wear light makeup, but bring make up and a friend to help you if you need to, but your photographer will assist you. This can offer you a quicker turn around when getting changed or trying new make up sets. A professional makeup artist can be provided if nessasary. Have good nights sleep and eat well the day before so you look fresh for the shoot as they can be quite tiring.
you also need to be calm, relaxed and confident.. but we can help with that!
The shoots
While you may have an idea that you want one of two photos to take home with you, this is proberly one of your first shoots so you will not be aware of the time that goes into the shoot itself. As it is a 'one time' event we try to shoot many photographs so that you have a selection, but not only this but each tilt, and expresion can make a lot of difference to teh final photo as well as other technical things that I do not need to btoher you with. For a simple shoot, you will need to consider an hour and a half, this is due to set up, lighting checks, test shots etc, and you getting ready for the shoot. If you were having two changes of clothes new hair and makeup then this could jump significatly in the time on the shoot. For a full range of photos which you are aiming for around ten photos, this can take a day.
Themes:
Often themes can really work with your photos, having one photograph to take from a shoot can be quite frankly boring and not centered around anything. Things always look best in three and the impact of three photos as aposed to one can make a world of difference. Also mounting photos correctly really make the difference to hwo they look. Pick a clear theme to the shoot so that you can pick any image that you want to go together and they will look stunning.
